A Story to Tell
Three Songs In was built from two things I have always loved: photographs and words.
Live music gives you both — the frame you catch in a flash of light, and the feeling you try to explain after the lights come up. This outlet is where those two pieces meet: concert photography, show recaps, artist stories, and phone-shot dispatches from the pit, the seats, and wherever the music takes us.
Some nights are full galleries. Some nights are a few imperfect clips and a paragraph written from the car after the show. All of it starts with showing up, paying attention, and telling the story honestly.
Hi — I’m Jodi.
I’m a New Jersey-based photographer and storyteller, and I’ve always been drawn to live music — the lights, the noise, the emotion, and especially those little in-between moments that most people miss.
I grew up in California with a pretty wide-open taste in music — country, hip hop, R&B, 80s/90s/2000s rock… whatever felt right at the time. That hasn’t really changed. If anything, moving to the East Coast just expanded it. Living in Jersey and spending time in NYC pulled me into new scenes like kizomba and salsa, and I’ve been chasing different sounds ever since. Basically, I just really love music.
A few years ago, during a tough stretch, I started going to more live shows. Somewhere along the way, I realized something was missing — my camera. Bringing it back into the experience changed everything. It gave me a way to reconnect, to slow down, and actually pay attention again. But even then, something still felt off — I wasn’t saying anything about what I was seeing.
Three Songs In is where that all comes together. It’s where I get to show what I see and say what I feel — the energy in a room, the connection between a band and a crowd, and the moments that stay with you long after the show ends.
